Chaperone Duties

Role of a Chaperone

As a chaperone you will be allocated a small group of children to supervise back stage. All our chaperones are volunteers with an enhanced DBS check.

Each chaperone will receive an information pack for the session they are helping at when they sign in at the Theatre. This will detail names of the children they are to supervise, a running order of the show, details of what routines the children in their group are participating in and what they should be wearing for each routine.

Each group is allocated to a dressing room and in each dressing room will be a space for that group. It will be very cozy back stage.

Chaperones will be asked to help the children to be ready for their routines in plenty of time.

Chaperones will be asked to escort them to the side of stage and wait for them to return to the dressing rooms.

All children will be asked to make their way with their chaperone to the stage door once the performance has finished to be collected.

We try to keep you near your own child if possible, but may ask you to over see a different group of children depending on who volunteers when. Please let us know if this is a problem.

As a chaperone we ask you to stay with your group until everyone has finished rehearsing or performing – this may be after your child has completed their routines. If for any reason you have to leave and children in your group are still present please let a member of staff know.

If you have any questions please speak to a member of staff.
