Show 2016 -Show weekend

Please ensure you have all your costumes, shoes, accessories and hair / make up with you. We do not have ANYTHING spare!

There is not a car park on site, there are a small number of spaces on site that will be available to blue badge holders on a first come first served basis.

Below are details provided by the theatre of short and long stay car parks in the area. We are advised that currently a full day in the long stay car park is £3.30. Details of parking in the local area can be found here

Due to safeguarding regulations and the number of female participants in the show unfortunately we cant allow any adults back stage unless performing or chaperoning, please be aware of this as you will be asked to drop your child off at the stage door.

K2 Dance Academy and Melton Theatre are unable to take responsibility for personal possessions brought into the theatre. Any phones, tablets, I pods etc. are brought entirely at your own risk.

Saturday 17th March AM – Technical rehearsal

All pupils participating in our show are required to attend a full technical rehearsal on the morning of Saturday 4th March at Melton Theatre.

Rehearsal schedule is as follows:
10.00am chaperones arrive ready for breifing

10.15am Infant pupils arrive in costume (baby / beginners ballet pupils), taken to chaperones.

10.30 – 10.50 am: Baby Ballet pupils to stage for rehearsal of Wizard of Oz Dance

10.30 – 11.00am remaining pupils arrive taken to chaperones

11.10am whole school finale rehearsal on stage

11.30am infant pupils signed out to parents at stage door

11.45am technical rehearsal for all pupils in running order

2.30pm rehearsal finish and all pupils signed out to parents

Please arrive in plenty of time to be ready to perform at your start time – this is a very strict schedule.

You will need to sign in and out each time you arrive or leave the theatre and this does take time please be patient with us as our pupils safety is our top priority.

Only adults who are chaperoning will be permitted back stage once at any time.

No siblings will be admitted back stage and the auditorium is closed during rehearsal, pupils will be asked to wait in their dressing rooms at all times.

Full costumes, hair and make up are required. Baby Ballet classes will be rehearsing first, please arrive in your frog costume.

Baby Ballet pupils will be asked to put belongings in their dressing room then make their way to the stage to begin rehearsal promptly at 10.30. they will remain in the auditorium for the duration of their rehearsal then be escorted by chaperones to their dressing rooms one we have finished rehearsing the finale and they may then be collected by their parents from the stage door.

Once we have rehearsed the finale Baby ballet pupils will be free to leave if not performing in any other numbers.

All other pupils please arrive in your finale costume with your costumes covered, bring all your other costumes with you. Please make you way to your dressing room and be prepared to gather quickly for the finale run through at 11.00am in your finale costume. Once we have rehearsed the finale please return to changing rooms to quickly begin the run through of all other number is the show running order.

Once children have completed the numbers they are required for you are free to leave the theatre if a parent is waiting to sign them out.

Chaperones are asked to stay until all pupils rehearsing.

All pupils must vacate the building from 2.30pm – 4.15pm, this is a requirement of the theatre. All pupils will require adult supervision between the rehearsal and the show – this is not the responsibility of the chaperones.

Saturday 30th April PM - Performance;

Chaperones are asked to arrive at 4.15pm
4.15 – 4.45pm Junior Students arrive and sign in at stage door
4.45 – 5.00pm Adult Students arrive and sign in at stage door
5.00 – 5.15pm Infant Students arrive and sign in at stage door

Stage doors will be secured at 5.20pm before the performance begins – dont be late!

The curtain goes up at 5.30pm – please ensure you arrive in plenty of time to be ready. Once the show starts we are unable to wait!

Things happen much quicker backstage during the performance than they did during the technical rehearsal so be prepared.

Only adults who are chaperoning will be permitted back stage. No siblings will be admitted back stage. 

All persons wishing to watch the show from the auditorium will require a ticket. This is a compulsory requirement of the theatre over which we have no control. Tickets are available directly from the theatre box office. 

Pupils can be collected from the stage door once the performance has finished. The show is approximately 2 hours 20 minutes long.

Sunday 18th March- Performance

Chaperones are asked to arrive by 12.45pm

1.00 – 1.30pm Junior Students arrive and sign in at stage door

1.30 – 1.40pm Infant Students arrive and sign in at stage door

1.40 – 1.50pm Adult Students arrive and sign in at stage door

The curtain goes up at 2.00pm – please ensure you arrive in plenty of time to be ready. Once the show starts we are unable to wait!
