General theatre info

On Saturday 17th March all pupils will require adult supervision between the rehearsal and the show – this is not the responsibility of the chaperones.

All pupils must vacate the building from 2.30pm – 4.30pm – this is a requirement of the theatre.

Tickets on sale now – if you don’t have yours yet please don’t miss out – sold out really does mean sold out. If you don’t have a ticket you wont be admitted to watch the production. This includes children sitting on laps and babies in arms. Tickets are available directly from the theatre.

No Photography or videos are permitted during the rehearsal or performance. Anyone doing so will be asked to leave the theatre.

Please do not post any pictures on the internet or social media without permission of all people in the photo.

What to expect back stage:
We ask that no pupils are seen in their costumes until on stage. This includes arriving at the theatre. You wouldn’t see the professionals out and about in their costumes and we encourage our pupils to do the same.

Back stage at any dance show is crowded and hot! There will be a lot of people moving about. We ask you to be patient and considerate to those around you.

Children will need to be signed in and out at each session for safe guarding reasons. Please allow plenty of time for this.
You will be asked to leave you child at the stage door and we will escort them to their dressing room.

Please send children with clear drinks – no fizzy drinks or glass bottles, snacks if they are expected to stay for a long time and something to entertain them but not make a mess of their costumes. It is suggested that our younger pupils bring a packed tea to both performances in a clearly labelled bag.

It is helpful to keep children clean if they can be sent with a top that can be zipped up over their costume to prevent dirty costumes.

Children should be sent with all their costume items, extra hair and makeup in case of emergency repairs. All items should be clearly labelled with the pupils name – including shoes!

Children can be collected from the stage door once the performance or rehearsal has finished.

K2 Dance Academy and Melton Theatre are unable to take responsibility for personal possessions brought into the theatre. Any phones, tablets, I pods etc. are brought entirely at your own risk. All pupils will be asked to complete our backstage electronics policy.

Melton Theatre and K2 Dance Academy take no responsibility for items left at the theatre, we ask you to help leave the venue clean and tidy at the end of each session.
