Show 2020 – Show weekend timings

Please ensure you have all your costumes, shoes, accessories and hair / make up with you. We do not have ANYTHING spare!

There is only a small car park on site, there are a small number of spaces on site that will be available to blue badge holders on a first come first served basis.

Below are details provided by the theatre of short and long stay car parks in the area. Details of parking in the local area can be found here

Due to safeguarding regulations for the show unfortunately we cant allow any adults back stage unless performing or chaperoning, please be aware of this as you will be asked to drop your child off at the stage door.

K2 Dance Academy and Melton Theatre are unable to take responsibility for personal possessions brought into the theatre. Any phones, tablets, I pods etc. are brought entirely at your own risk.

Saturday 14th March AM – Technical rehearsal

All pupils above our beginners classes participating in our show are required to attend a full technical rehearsal on the morning of Saturday 14th March at Melton Theatre.

Saturday 14th March:
Pupils who only dance in Beginners Ballet and Introductory Tap do not attend today
9.45 am chaperones to sign in.
10.15am Pupils surnames A – H arrive and sign in at stage door
10.30am Pupils surnames I – Z arrive and sign in at stage door
10.45am Back stage doors closed (no further sign in or out )
10.45am Rehearsal starts.
1.00pm Pupils in Preparatory Classes and 1st half only Sign out
2.45pm All other dancers signed out at stage door

We will rehearse Finale, Preparatory Theatre Craft and then the remaining dances in show running order.

Please arrive in plenty of time to be ready to perform at your start time – this is a very strict schedule.

You will need to sign in and out each time you arrive or leave the theatre and this does take time please be patient with us as our pupils safety is our top priority.

Only adults who are chaperoning will be permitted back stage once at any time.

No siblings will be admitted back stage and the auditorium is closed during rehearsal, pupils will be asked to wait in their dressing rooms at all times.

Full costumes, hair and make up are required. Pupils please arrive in your finale costume with your costumes covered, bring all your other costumes with you. Please make you way to your dressing room and be prepared to gather quickly for the finale run through at 10.45am in your finale costume. Once we have rehearsed the finale please return to changing rooms to quickly begin the run through of all other number is the show running order.

Chaperones are asked to stay until all pupils rehearsing.

All pupils must vacate the building from 3.00pm – 4.00pm, this is a requirement of the theatre.
All pupils will require adult supervision between the rehearsal and the show – this is not the responsibility of the chaperones.

4.00pm Pupils surnames A – H arrive and sign in at stage door
4.15pm Pupils surnames I – Z arrive and sign in at stage door
4.30pm Back stage doors closed (no further sign in or out )
5.00pm Curtain up
7.30pm Show finish (approx)
7.45pm Pupils sign out and return to parents (youngest pupils will be the first group to sign out) each dressing room will be signed out in turn, Parents asked to please wait patiently outside the stage door.

Stage doors will be secured at 4.30pm before the performance begins – don’t be late!

The curtain goes up at 5.00pm – please ensure you arrive in plenty of time to be ready. Once the show starts we are unable to wait!

Things happen much quicker backstage during the performance than they did during the technical rehearsal so be prepared.

Only adults who are chaperoning will be permitted back stage. No siblings will be admitted back stage. 

All persons wishing to watch the show from the auditorium will require a ticket. This is a compulsory requirement of the theatre over which we have no control. Tickets are available directly from the theatre box office. 

Pupils can be collected from the stage door once the performance has finished. The show is approximately 2 hours 20 minutes long.

Sunday 15th March AM - Performance;

9.45am Chaperones to sign in
10.00am Beginners Ballet & Introductory Tap pupils Sign In
10.20 – 11.00 Beginners Ballet & Introductory Tap pupils rehearse on stage
10.15am Pupils surnames A – H arrive and sign in at stage door
10.30am Pupils surnames I – Z arrive and sign in at stage door
11.00am Back stage doors closed (no further sign in or out )
11.30am Curtain up
2.00pm Show finish (approx)
2.15pm Pupils sign out and return to parents (under 5’s will be the first group to sign out) each dressing room will be signed out in turn, Parents asked to please wait patiently outside the stage door.

Stage doors will be secured at 11am before the performance begins – dont be late!

The curtain goes up at 11.30am – please ensure you arrive in plenty of time to be ready. Once the show starts we are unable to wait!
