Meet the K2 Team - MISS AMY Hi everyone, I’m Miss Amy!I’ve been teaching dance since I was 15, so I’ve now been teaching for an amazing 23 years! Over that time, I’ve had the opportunity to teach in dance schools, colleges and universities, with 15 of those years being spent right here at K2.My favourite styles to teach are Street, Contemporary and Musical Theatre, although Contemporary is definitely where my heart lies. I love watching students grow, learn and develop while having fun along the way. Seeing their confidence build and watching them discover what they’re capable of is one of my favourite parts of being a teacher.I was inspired to become a teacher by my own dance teachers. They gave me so many amazing opportunities and experiences throughout my dancing journey, and I wanted to be able to give that same feeling to the next generation of dancers.Outside of the studio, I love keeping active at the gym and travelling with my family. And of course, no introduction would be complete without mentioning our dachshund, Oreo, who definitely keeps us entertained!And for a little K2 connection you might not know about… I actually taught Miss Ella when she was little, and now she teaches my daughter! It’s such a lovely full-circle moment and one of the things I love about being part of the K2 family.After 15 years at K2, I feel so lucky to still be doing what I love, watching dancers grow and being part of so many special journeys.
✨ A very special full-circle moment ✨Today we had one of those moments that makes you stop and realise just how quickly time flies. One of our tiniest dancers had her very first Tap class today — and who better to share that special moment with than Miss Harriet, who is with us for her very last day before heading off to university. 🎓Harriet first joined us as a tiny dancer herself when she was just three years old. Over the years, she has grown into a beautiful dancer, a wonderful teacher and such a special role model for our younger dancers, helping, encouraging and inspiring our tiniest stars along the way.And now, all these years later, seeing her teaching little ones taking their very first steps in Tap is just the most beautiful full-circle moment. Today has been full of hugs and emotional goodbyes, with so many of our older dancers popping in to give Harriet one last cuddle before she heads off on her next adventure. It really shows just how much she means to everyone who has had the pleasure of dancing alongside her. ❤️Harriet, we are so incredibly proud of you. Thank you for all the memories, the laughter, the dancing, the help with our tiniest dancers and for being such a special part of our dance family.We are going to miss you SO much, Harriet! 🥹Good luck at university — go and shine bright! 🌟From a tiny three-year-old dancer to Miss Harriet… what a journey, and what a beautiful full-circle moment. 🩰✨
🌟 Confidence & Connection at K2 🌟Our Level 2 Future Teacher group have been getting started with their first session, exploring what it means to be part of the K2 Dance Academy family. Together, they’ve been learning about the Academy structure, our values and our ethos, and thinking about how they fit into the wider K2 community and the role they can play within it. The session was all about building confidence, connection and a sense of belonging, encouraging our dancers to get to know one another, share ideas and begin to understand the opportunities that come with being part of the Academy. 🌟This is just the beginning of their Level 2 journey, and we’re so excited to see their confidence grow, their connections strengthen and each of them find their own place within our K2 family. 🫶#K2DanceAcademy #embodyfuturedanceteachers #DanceFamily
