Meet the K2 Team - Miss RachelHi everyone, I’m Miss Rachel, and I’m so excited to be joining the K2 Dance Academy teaching team!My journey into teaching dance started when I was just 15 years old. I began by helping out in classes, and over the past six years I’ve gradually increased my responsibilities and the amount of time I spend in the studio. Around two years ago, I decided to take the next step and began working towards my teaching qualifications.I’ve always loved dancing. When I was younger, I really looked up to the helpers and teachers in my classes, so when I started assisting myself, I quickly fell in love with teaching and realised just how special it is to be part of someone else’s dancing journey.I’ve always wanted to share the positive impact that dance can have and encourage others to experience everything that comes with being part of a dance community. I feel incredibly lucky that I get to do that every week.One of my favourite things about teaching is seeing the progress students make. It could be something as simple as learning a new step they’ve been working on, or something much bigger like seeing their confidence grow. I think it’s so special to see how many skills dancers develop through their time in the studio that they can take with them into everyday life, and how dance can help shape them as a person as they grow.Outside of dancing and teaching, I’m a big believer in making the most of everything life has to offer. I love creating memories, trying new things and exploring new places — after all, you’ll never know whether you enjoy something unless you give it a go!I absolutely love travelling and discovering new places, as well as going to musicals and concerts. I always find that seeing a new show can spark new ideas and inspiration. When I want something a little calmer, you’ll usually find me reading or doing reformer Pilates.I’m also a huge reader and have already read over 50 books this year, across a whole variety of genres!I’m really excited to be part of the K2 family and this chapter of my teaching journey!
