Meet the K2 Team - MISS PHILIPPA Hi everyone, I’m Miss Philippa!I’ve been teaching dance for… over 30 years now — ahhh! — and I’ve also been an examiner for nearly 25 years. Over that time, I’ve had the opportunity to teach so many different styles and genres of theatre dance, from Ballet and Tap to Theatre Craft, Contemporary, Modern Jazz and even Line Dancing!Dance has been part of my life since I was just two years old, and honestly, it has always felt like home to me. I absolutely adore teaching and, for me, one of the most special parts is the relationships I build with students and being able to be part of their individual dance journeys.Teaching is where my heart has always been. I was inspired by the teachers I had throughout my own dancing journey, as well as the examiners and adjudicators I met along the way, and they encouraged me to follow my own path within dance.It’s difficult to choose a favourite part of teaching because I simply love my dancing life! But I think my favourite elements are the creativity that dance allows and that incredible connection to music. I also love seeing that lightbulb moment when a student develops their technical understanding and something suddenly clicks. Watching someone grow and realise what they can achieve is so rewarding.When I’m not dancing or teaching, I love going on theatre trips and spending time with my family. Although, I’m sure anyone who knows me will agree that I’m never really very far away from something dance-related!After more than 30 years of teaching, my passion for dance and for helping students develop is just as strong as ever. I feel incredibly lucky to have spent so much of my life doing something I love, and I’m so excited to continue sharing that passion with all of our K2 dancers.
